Community Death Education

Judith Lorei, co-founder and president of Green Burial Massachusetts, was a funeral director/embalmer apprentice 20 years ago when she left the industry to become an educator and advocate on behalf funeral consumer rights and natural burial. Her talk will touch on Green Burial Massachusetts’ work with various land trusts to establish a conservation cemetery open to all in Massachusetts; update green burial activities throughout the state; and discuss an ongoing project to provide information on where natural burial is allowed in Massachusetts.
